Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, the quintessential 80s teen film written, directed, and co-produced by the incomparable John Hughes, will be shown as part of the UCPAC’s Classic Film Series on 35 mm film! Originating countless pop culture references (“Bueller… Bueller…”), this 1986 classic stars Matthew Broderick as Ferris Bueller, a fourth wall-breaking high school senior determined to skip school for a day of fun in Chicago. Faking ill is only phase one; phase two is commandeering his legitimately sick friend Cameron’s (played by Alan Ruck) father’s car, and phase three is breaking his girlfriend Sloane (played by Mia Sara) out of school with an elaborate lie. Both Ferris’ principle and sister suspect him, going out of their way to try to catch him in the act. Will Ferris be able to keep up the ruse and finish off his mini vacation without a hitch?
