The two-day ‘Leadership Hyacinth’ advocacy training course for community leaders aims to increase awareness and advocacy efforts within Union County communities. ‘Leadership Hyacinth’ is designed to increase participation in advocacy efforts in HIV/AIDS, STI & Hep C Policy.
Organized by the Union County Office of LGBTQ Affairs in partnership with Hyacinth Foundation, upon completion of the ‘Leadership Hyacinth’ program participants will be able to use science-based evidence to speak competently on broad public health issues; present advocacy issues to policy makers at the local, state and federal level through letters, email, phone calls and face to face meetings, and describe and understand United States and New Jersey HIV/AIDS strategies and policies.
